THE FOUNDER:
Tee Jay Wilson is a beacon of hope and transformation, serving as the founder and director of FreshStart Recovery Ministries—a long-term, faith-based recovery program committed to helping men overcome alcoholism and substance abuse. His powerful journey from addiction to advocacy stands as a testament to resilience, redemption, and the life-changing power of faith. Born and raised in Colony, Alabama, Tee Jay knows firsthand the struggles that individuals in small communities face when battling addiction. For 15 years, he lived in the grip of a crack cocaine addiction, which eventually led to a twenty year prison sentence. It was behind bars that Tee Jay experienced a profound spiritual awakening—one that would change the course of his life. Fueled by a renewed sense of purpose and a deep faith in Christ, Tee Jay founded FreshStart Recovery Ministries to be the support system he once needed. Today, he uses his own story to inspire and guide others toward lasting healing, offering not just recovery, but hope, direction, and a fresh start.
The MISSION:
At FreshStart Recovery Ministries, we welcome both court-appointed and walk-in clients who are ready to begin a new chapter in life. Our Christ-centered program provides a structured, supportive environment where men can overcome addiction, rebuild their lives, and grow in faith. We assist each individual in finding meaningful employment, maintaining sobriety through regular drug testing, and developing healthy habits that support long-term recovery. Through personal accountability, spiritual guidance, and a strong sense of community, we help men move from brokenness to purpose—one step at a time.
